Born in NJ and lived there until I was 43. Moved to CA and lived a mile from Disneyland for 17 years before getting disgusted with Taxifornia and moving to Henderson, NV in 2003.

I avoid going to CA if at all possible. Can't stand the traffic congestion there. Those who complain about Las Vegas traffic usually have the misfortune to have to commute to and from the Northwest part of the valley. Henderson is a breeze for commuting. Now, don't everyone move here! Try driving in the LA/Orange County CA area and in the NJ/NYC/LI area if you really want to complain about traffic.

I am a jack of all trades, master of none. Been in one sort of service capacity or another all my life: Automatic and Overhead Doors, Home Repairs and Improvements, Computer Service, Systems Administrator, Technical Rep in call centers. Computer jobs kept moving to India and leaving me behind. I guess being left behind wasn't such a bad thing!

After the wife's company got bought out and she lost her job we made a new start in NV. I am currently employed by the second largest Slot Machine manufacturer in the world. We also furnish a software system to handle casino accounts, slot machine management, etc. I am a tech rep in their call center.

I have been a ham radio operator since 1959 and I am enjoying the extra boost my signal gets from the higher elevation in NV. We have contests on the radio on a regular basis to contact the most countries we can, over a weekend, and I have made many friends and acquaintances around the world over the years.

I like most music after the mid 50's: Oldies, Country, Classical if it is loud, has a good beat, and you can dance to it.

Anything with violence, car chases, explosions, .....you get the picture.

Also like a good comedy.

Sometime around 1983 on a 3 week trip to CA, AZ, & NV. Landed at and departed from McCarran. We didn't even take time to try the slots in the airport. We were headed for the Grand Canyon and then to CA. We were saving gambling for the end of the trip. We left town with the $50 in nickels my wife won on a slot machine about 20 minutes before we were to leave for the airport.

It is not CA or NJ. Took a bit of getting used to the heat but now I am freezing when it gets below 60 degrees which is still too cold. I guess your blood does thin in the heat.

Not much for going to shows but we do get to see some now and then and the wife loves being able to gamble anytime she wants to.
