IN THE AIR (Feb. 21, 2009)
Last week my coworker and I went on a short helicopter flight--it was a typical maintenance flight that went six miles out and returned to the terminal. Boy, was it an experience. It's like an unbelievable view from the air because you're not too high up so you can really see the lay of the land below you. We passed over the Excalibur and several businesses and housing developments as we headed to the edge of the valley. There's been a lot of rain recently in Las Vegas and it was a windy day so there were some bumps--but nothing too worrisome to our pilot (although being novices we were a bit worried). All in all, it was an amazing experience and I can hardly wait to take more flights, which I'll be doing next week when I try out our company's Canyon Dream tour with my folks in tow and then next weekend when my coworker and I go to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for NASCAR.
THE MOST BEAUTIFUL FOOTAGE EVER! (Feb. 13, 2009)
This weekend the company I work for was featured on "Good Morning America." It showed a helicopter tour of the South Rim of the Grand Canyon...just after a snowfall. It's amazing how beautiful the scenery is. You can see the segment at: http://abcnews.go.com/...
WE'RE GOING TO NASCAR! (January 30, 2009)
I've never been to a NASCAR race but my company is providing helicopter transportation there for the Las Vegas races at the end of February--to help people avoid the two-hour traffic jam--and we're all going to be helping out with it. I just thought I'd try to get tips and information from NASCAR fans about what I shouldn't miss out there, and I'll let everyone know what it's like to be part of a helicopter transportation team--as that sounds so cool.
