On December 7, between the hours of 5pm and 8pm, the Triq Lounge Night Club at the newly christened Planet Hollywood welcomes ALL media to celebrate the Vegas fanatic-Vegas lover, Vegas voyeur, Vegas virgin, Vegas entertainer, Vegas closet lover-wannabe-local, AND their new best Internet friend: OpenVegas.com

"When you cannot be IN Vegas, you can be ON OpenVegas. We never close!" announces co-founder Gene Balmain. Prepared to handle easily 1,000,000 plus members, OpenVegas.com is the World Wide Web’s equivalent to the city’s own McCarran International Airport, however notably cheaper and with zero delays.

OpenVegas.com is a friend-of-a-friend (FOAF) network, similar to myspace but with significant differences. Like other FOAF’s, it offers its own video servers, MP3 files and blog ability. What makes OpenVegas.com unique is its commitment to the Las Vegas Entertainer. Pictures, resumes and zed cards will go high-tech for all models, showgirls, dancers. Singers and rising local bands will have a new forum to upload their own music and share with all OpenVegas.com fans. "We’ve made a significant commitment in networking hardware and software," explains co-founder Frank Sener.

The OpenVegas.com press party will cater to Las Vegas Entertainers, and those who love to watch them. A virtual red carpet will unroll to welcome all members of the media and most of Vegas’ headlining royalty. Shannon Huslig, Las Vegas’ own Internet TV host, will be on scene, camera crew in tow, to highlight the launch. The acclaimed band, Neon Venus, will show their support with several sets from their latest CD, "Irresistible", and anyone or all of Jubilee's classic Amazon showgirls will grace the party to saunter and adorn.

Vegas's iconic beauties take special interest in OpenVegas since the site exclusively partnered with Callbacknews.com, the ultimate source for Vegas auditions and entertainment news. And speaking of traditional Vegas shows, members are required to be 18 years or older, so said showgirls might upload their leggy promotional photos with peace of mind.

Other than the age requirement, Gene and Frank insist, "We don’t discriminate." Any country that wants to be a member can be. Though some hopeful-locals may not be able to directly pinpoint Las Vegas on the globe, they can explain that whatever happens there stays there. It makes Vegas more of a state-of-mind than a physical place and OpenVegas.com is that place, allowing anyone to be a ‘local’ including those on the other side of the world.
