My husband surprised me with the news that we’d be spending our 20th wedding anniversary at The Venetian in Las Vegas. I had never been to a place so large, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. From the moment we arrived, I was absolutely in love. The Venetian is incredibly beautiful, and the service began for us as soon as my husband parked the car.
We entered into the expansive lobby and the receptionist was quick with getting us situated in our room. The bellboys—if you still call them that?—were also quick to take our luggage, and they were smiling and friendly and set the tone for our three-night stay.
The inside of our room can be described no other way but utterly spectacular. Of course, I’m a Kentucky girl used to a Super 8, so this was heaven. Not only was it large, but it was so clean – everything was fresh and the room even had that “new” smell running throughout.
We didn’t go down to the casino or out to eat the first night. We took full advantage of the king-sized bed, the Jacuzzi tub and the room service (which was great for us; champagne and strawberries were sent up in less than 20 minutes).
I didn’t like the casino when we went down on the second day. I would just as soon go to the best online casinos rather than mix it up with all the drunks and scary-looking people in The Venetian. But the actual guests out by the pool and in the food court were a different story entirely.
My husband was nearly broke from everyone holding their hands out for a tip, but I had the time of my life in a large, clean, friendly and unique place that I would love to go back to. It was expensive, for sure, but it made for a perfect anniversary.
