Come to regular Songsalive! workshops and develop collaborations, meet industry guests, showcase and workshop your music for feedback in a professional and supportive environment. Songsalive! holds workshops where songwriters gather to share their songs, gain feedback and develop relationships within the songwriting communities we have created around the world.
Guest Speaker Freebo; From top sideman/bassist (Bonnie Raitt, John Mayall, CSN, Maria Muldaur, Ringo Starr) to award-winning singer/songwriter (2007 Los Angeles Music Awards "Best Folk Artist", winner '07 S. Florida Folk Fest. Songwriting Contest, 5 nominations in 5 different categories JPF Awards, 2 songs in top 10 of USA Songwriting Contest), Freebo continues to push his creative envelope. Now he has chosen to share the many things he's learned over the years. In this hybrid workshop, Freebo will give you specific tools and hints for your songwriting, song-arrangement, and performing, all within the context of honoring your special gifts and giving yourself permission and the courage to become the artist/musician you've always wanted to be. In a world of judgement and criticism, we are filled with the voices of others telling us how to be. Freebo will help you to find your own voice, figuratively and literally. Along with the craft of songwriting, he will also help you to shape your song with arrangement, chord substitutions, and phrasing ideas. And in performing your song, Freebo covers the topics of fear, preparation, tools, timing, and communication. How do you connect to your audience? You become one with them!
The workshops are open to all songwriters and music composers of all levels and music genres and you don't have to be a Songsalive! member to attend.
