We just got back from Vegas and had an amazing time. We stayed at the Flamingo and I requested a room up high with a strip view. The room (Go Room) and view (directly across from the fountains at Caesars) were great. My only problem was that the view was obscurred by that huge banner of Donnie and Marie on the side of the building. I love taking pictures out the window while I'm staying in Vegas. But this was virtually impossible due to this sign. All my pictures look like they were taken from behind a screen, because technically they were. I sure wish that banner wouldn't have been there. On the other hand, it made it easy to see your room from the street. We were staying in Marie's left ear!!

Okay, so their not technically "porn slappers", but they are just as annoying. I'm talking about the people standing by the porn slappers offering night club passes. I just got back from Vegas last week and wow! They were everywhere. Although not as pushy as the porn slappers (they didn't shove their passes in my face as I walked by). They were still quite annoying. Standing in the most crowded areas blocking people as they tried to squeeze by. I guess no one's going to clubs and they're trying to drum up business. In my opinion they're as annoying as porn slappers and time-share hawkers!

I just got back from a week in Vegas. Is it just me, or have the number of porn slappers trippled since my last trip (April)? Not only are there three times more of them, they appear to be much more aggressive than they were. Before they wouldn't locate in areas that were directly in front of a hotel/casino. They definitely didn't have a problem with that this time. It seems to me they would want to not stand in areas that were confined or had limited walking space, not so. They were everywhere. I don't care if they do this, hey they have to make a living too. But if someone says no, move on. I had several try and shove them in my face. By the way, who's responsibility is it to pick up the hundreds of cards that end up lying on the ground? I would think the people handing them out could be charged with littering if they didn't pick them up off the ground. I still love Vegas, but this is getting out of control fast!

Salsagev just got into the act by uploading 22 photos yesterday..! Cool deal. Especially some of his Vegas SNOW photos.

-----------------

I've got probably 50 STRIP snow photos.. and hundreds of hours of Vegas VIDEO that is just sitting here in my office. (Yea right.. if I could find them) Over the next week or so.. I'll be pulling everything OUT of my office. Then putting it back in.

I have nearly 12 years of Computer/Video stuff piled up in this small room. Sure will be nice to get it all sorted out. Even a hand built DUAL CPU video editing monster.. now you just go down to frys and for less than $500.. Bingo. You have what I spent over $2500 on.

Speaking of.. My NEXT video editing computer is coming in at roughly $4000. Editing HD is a lot harder then Standard Def video. I'm going off book this time.. Instead of buying the MORE EXPENSIVE HP video workstation. I'm buying an Extreme gamers computer. Which is basically the same thing. Anytime you deal with video.. you need all the computing power you can get your hands on.

Processor: Intel Core i7 Extreme 975(3.33GHz)

Memory: 12GB DDR3 1333

Hard Drive: Main Hard Drive: 128GB 2.5" SATA MLC-SSD 2nd Hard Drive: 1.5TB SATAII

Optical Drive 1: Blu-Ray High Definition DVDRW Combo Drive

Optical Drive 2: 22X DL DVD+/-RW Drive

Graphics: 2 x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 1792MB

Audio: Realtek High Definition Audio, 8-channel audio

It will be OLD NEWS in 2 years.. Most surely 3 years when AMD comes out with their Integrated ATI-CPU monsters.

Oh well.. back to work.

Going to a conference in early March. It is being held there so I figured I would stay there. I have never set foot in there. Is it really "Animal House" on steroids? . I am over the party scene (and over the hill) and just enjoy Vegas and gambling. Will not have a car. This will be my 12th visit to Vegas (to the best of my memory.) I usually stay mid-strip and have stayed downtown.

I would love to hear any comments from any "mature" people that have stayed/played there. Thanks!

Penn National Gaming asked the federal bankruptcy court in Miami today to approve the company as the stalking horse bidder for the shuttered Fountainebleau project.

In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission this morning, Penn National said it has entered in an agreement to purchase the project with the debtors. Construction halted on the Fountainebleau in April after lenders stopped funding the nearly $3 billion in development costs.
In its filing, Penn National said it set up a subsidiary, Nevada Gaming Ventures, to acquire the Fountainebleau through the bankruptcy court
If the court approves Penn National as the stalking horse bidder, an auction will take place and other parties will be allowed to submit competing bids

I know the 10 day forecast but that doesn't give me much info compared to the same Florida temperatures. What's everybody wearing out there this time of year?

Are the games at wizardofodds a good trainer? I understand they are just to teach you what course to take when presented with certain cards, but would this apply to the VP games in Vegas?

This may seem like a strange question, but does anyone know what the MGM does with the Fight Promotion BJ table felts after the big fights are done? I've been a few times leading up to big matches and noticed that a large number of BJ tables have these felts on them, then after the fight they change them out. I would imagine they don't have much use for them once each fight is over.

I know they're probably pretty dirty, but they'd be cool to have as a collector's item. Does anyone know who I might contact at MGM about how to get one of these?
