USAIR to cut flights to LAS by 44%

USAir has announced that they will be cutting flights in February by 44% .In Las Vegas, US Airways currently operates 64 daily flights. The number will fall to 36 by February, a 44 percent reduction. In a statement, the airlines said high fuel prices and the lack of customer demand were the reasons behind the reduction.

Also, US Airways is ending non-stop service between Las Vegas and Detroit, Minneapolis, Seattle, San Jose, Calif., Orange County, Calif., Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Chicago (O’Hare), Vancouver and Toronto.

I am lucky using USA in Dec, would be gutted if it was early next year.

Sounds like it will be tougher and tougher to get out there from the ( North)East.....( maybe from where I am in Ct land too).

It is getting harder and harder to find non-stop flights.
I hopes it is not a trend.
