Default Gambling, drinking, and the usual May 5-7

I just found this site a few weeks before my trip and and found it very helpful, especially the trip reports so I thought i'd share my own. Two of my best friends Alex and Jeremy had to go for business and asked if Id like to join them. We have all been to Vegas easily 100 times each. Alex and Jeremy are early 30's and I am late 20's. We all LOVE to gamble and LOVE to drink so being that Vegas is so close to us in San Diego we make it there pretty often. Due to the fact that we go every other month and sometimes even more often when we go its usually for like 3 or 4 days max with the occasional 1 nighter. This report will be long so sorry if I ramble and I hope some of you can find this helpful as I have found your reports fun and helpful!

We were off on the 10:15 AM flight from San Diego to Las Vegas. They decided to have a nice breakfast before take off but i opted to get in "Vegas mode" and enjoyed a couple Screwdrivers. The flight from San Diego is always a blast because being that its only 45 minutes or so gate to gate, by the time you finish a cocktail its time to land.

Myself and Alex stayed at Paris while Jeremy stayed at Caesers. We went to check in and the $20 trick was a no go but we went ahead and payed the extra 50 bucks and had an excellent view of the strip, Bellagio Fountains, Eifel Tower, and caesers. We had Jeremy meet us in the room as soon as he checked in and we all enjoyed some in room cocktails real quick before Alex and Jeremy had to go to a meeting. They went to their meeting and I decided to go over to Bills which over the last couple trips has become my home in vegas I just always seem to have fun there win or lose. Im friends with a couple pit bosses there who always take care of me so im sure this helps.

The first thing I do when I sit down at the table(usually either BJ or Pai Gow) is grab the nearest waitress, give her $20 and tell her to keep bringing me a shot of my choice and usually a vodka redbull until I ask her to stop bringing them. This always works excellent and the waitress always ends up bringing the drinks much faster than I can drink them. I love doing this as it ensures great service and I am NEVER waiting for a drink. I was up and down for a while but as the cocktails start to take over my bet sizes go way up and by the time my friends meeting is over at 3PM, I lose $600 of the $1500 I brought to gamble with. We keep playing at Bills for a while then go up to the room about 6 to shower, clean up, and get ready for dinner.

We were going to Shibuya at the MGM for dinner as it is one of my favorite restaurants in Vegas. They have the best Sake list in town and they're rolls are amazing. There was a couple Business Partners at Dinner who would be taking care of the bill so we ordered a ton of different rolls as well as the kobe Beef and Shrimp Tempura. Everything was excellent and the service there was top notch as my water and sake never made it to empty and the waiters were on top of everything.

The rest of the guys were tired and went off to their hotels while Alex and I went to Paris to keep gambling. Alex did ok I however lost another $400 in about 30 mins. I decided the best idea would be to stop gambling and just start getting absolutely wasted. We accomplished this within about 10 mins. We were just meandering around the strip stumbling and mumbling when Jeremy and a co-worker randomly called and said they got a second wind and wanted to do more drinking. We met them at Cleopatras Barge which is a cool place at Casers. Good Music, good lighting, good scenery, Great place to just kick back get drunk and laugh constantly. The funniest thing we saw there was some 50 something Canadian tourist dirty dancing with this Overweight black prostitute! We leave there at about 430 am and grab breakfast at the cafe at Paris. $9.99 bfast special was real good and had all the breakfast usuals.

Woke up around 10 on Wednesday Alex and Jeremy had more meeting so they somehow managed to go to those because as hung over as i was I couldnt have done anything work related! I decided since I didn't feel like drinking I would play poker. I love playing Limit and NL hold em in San Diego and play quite often but due to the fact that im always drunk in Vegas I usually stay away from poker there. So I sit at a 1-2 NL table and for the first time the whole trip luck comes my way. I begin to hit hand after hand after hand and quickly turn $200 into $1100. There was one guy at the table just getting wasted having fun and seemed like the money really didnt matter to him. He would raise big everytime so everyone would call, he was the reason I won so much so quick. First time he raises to 40 I call as does 6 other players. I have 10 J of diamonds and the flop comes a beautiful 7 8 9 with two clubs. big action the whole way and luckily the clubs missed.

The boys come back from their meetings and we head to the Paris Buffet. We were all happy with it and I thought it was excellent. Fresh off my second wind from poker winnings we continue to drink and sticking with the theme for this trip the more I drink the higher I bet and I quickly lose about $1000. discouraged and upset with myself for letting the same thing happen again I stop drinking, sober up and head back to poker at Ballys. AMAZING LUCK there. First 5 hands I sit down im dealt a flush, straight, 3 of a kind, 2 pair and AK when an Ace flops. quickly run my $200 to about $900. The players at Ballys are SO bad its ridicilous. I think the fact that the Poker area is right next to a major bar and across from a lounge as well as in the middle of the casino floor helps attract players that have no idea how to play. I even sat next to a guy who all the staff knew and who was a very good player who lives in Vegas and he told me he only comes to Ballys when his money is low because the players are so Bad.

Alex also wins a few hundred in poker so were both happy so what do we do for our last night? You guessed it! Got wasted and played way higher than we should and lost just about everything with exception of some pocket money for the few hours before our flight the next day. Just played a little bit the next morning before our flight. Had a quick bfast at parris buffet again and left for the airport.

This was a really weird Vegas trip for me as I have never quite experienced such up and downs. I was literally down to my last $200 when I played poker the second time. Im going back probably for my birthday in June and im already itching lol
