RESTAURANT REPORT
Lucky's Coffee Shop, Stratosphere, 2000 Las Vegas Blvd. South, received 17 demerits April 27. Violations included food containers improperly labeled. GRADE: B

MGM Special Events Center kitchen, 3799 Las Vegas Blvd. South, received 18 demerits April 27. Violations included several single serve milk and half-and-half containers beyond the use-by date. GRADE: B

Chin Chin exhibition kitchen, New York-New York, 3790 Las Vegas Blvd. South, received 19 demerits May 4. Violations included ice used as refrigeration in several locations. GRADE: B

Geisha Bar, Imperial Palace, 3535 Las Vegas Blvd. South, received 12 demerits May 6. Violations included interior of ice machine had black moldlike substance. GRADE: B

Suncoast Sports Bar, 9090 Alta Drive, received 13 demerits May 4. Violations included fruit stored in uncovered containers. GRADE: B





WE HAVE A FEW BIG WINNERS THIS WEEK
El Taco Fresco, 4755 W. Flamingo Road, received 52 demerits May 3. Violations included potentially hazardous food not cooled by approved methods. GRADE: Closed

Himalayan Cuisine, 710 E. Flamingo Road, received 53 demerits April 29. Violations included no hot water or paper towels at back prep sink. GRADE: Closed



The following restaurants have been reinspected:

MGM Grand buffet hot prep west, 3799 Las Vegas Blvd. South, received three demerits April 23 and was upgraded to an A.


Lucky's Coffee Shop, Stratosphere, 2000 Las Vegas Blvd. South, received one demerit April 30 and was upgraded to an A.

MGM Special Events Center kitchen, 3799 Las Vegas Blvd. South, received two demerits April 27 and was upgraded to an A.

WHAT IT MEANS
The Southern Nevada Health District conducts random inspections of local restaurants. An establishment receives an A grade if it has received no more than 10 demerits. A B grade is given to those establishments that receive 11 to 20 demerits, and a C grade is given to any establishment that receives 21 to 40 demerits. If an establishment receives more than 40 demerits, it is closed immediately. The grades are posted at the time of the inspection. The establishment has the option of requesting a reinspection before its next scheduled inspection.
