Default Flamingo ??

We're going to give the Flamingo a try on our upcoming trip (T-9). I like a room with a view of the strip. Is there anything in particular I should ask for? I'm thinking about asking for an upgrade ($20 trick). Has anyone had any experience in the past with this? Is it possible to get a "go room" with this? Any info would help. Also, any good dining choices there?

We are Flamingo regulars as the wife likes the pool the best. By all means try the $20 tip but I've had no luck with it. I've heard of others success tho. Reg Rooms are showing a fair bit of wear now, but better than a Motel 6. Make sure to get the "Total Rewards" card as future offers are plentiful. RE: Restaurants: we aren't "foodies" and find the cafe about average. The Buffett is good if you're a "Meat and Tatters" type like us. Others sllam it alot but it's not that bad. Theres TONS of food choices around due to the central location. Hey...it's Vegas so do what you want and have fun!!!

Talking Re: Flamingo ??

I have stayed at the Flamingo at least once a year for the past 9 years.

The food is not great, but it is edibile. The VP Sucks, and regular rooms
are so-so. But hey, for the price $0.00, who cares? i haven't paid for a room
since the 1st trip 9 years ago.

The Flamingo has a great pool setup and you cannot beat the location on the
Stirip.

Just 1 man's opinion, and you know, everyone has one.

I have stayed at Flamingo about 5 times in the last couple years. I would always get an email from them right before I came out offering to upgrade to a GO room for I think 30 a night. I used the 20 dollar trick in Sept and got upgraded to a strip view. Also, if you are going out with your significant other just tell them it is your anniversary. That worked for a friend of mine. I love the GO rooms myself. Good luck and have a great time.

when I booked our room's it was just me and my brother then my buddy decided that he wanted to go too.

We stayed there in August and the line for check in was long very long ( 45 min.) so when we got to the end we were very polite and doing the small talk thing. We also had the twenty stuffed between the cc and id.
we asked her how much for a rollway and she replied that it was $30.00 a night but she could but us up in room that had a sofa if one of us did not mind sleeping on it.
So of course we took it. and it was the best view I ever had. It was room # 1719. It was not a go room but it was a perfect view of Ceaders and we could see the B. fountains. I actually slept on the sofa one night to enjoyed the view as I fell asleep or passed out. also there was a refrig. in the room to.
The flamingo treated us good. We only ate at some burger joint there. I can't rem. the name but it was good. Gambling was so-so up and down.
I hope this helps some.
Oh I forgot when she saw the $20.00 she replied what's this for and we said you. She said thank and quickly put it in her pocket. So I dont know if it was being nice or the twenty.
