cheap Sunday AM breakfast recomendations
trying to avoid the champagne brunch thing next sunday, i get in about 9am and want a quick bite before hitting a morning poker tourney, so far i'm thinking old reliable EI steak and eggs or maybe give the WildWest greasy breakfast a try. I know I will hit EI for a steak later in the week so I'm thinking of trying something different. hopefully close to the strip so i can get to a 10am tourney.
let me hear your ideas
thanks

Good for you! Stay away from the brunches. It sends the right message.
I don't think the Wild Wild West is what you want, since their coffee shop was replaced with a Denny's. Ellis Island is always a great place for breakfast.

Sure. A couple of Sausage McMuffins at a buck each and you're good until lunch. I used to get the hashbrown too when it was a buck, but they're getting $1.50 at the Fitz McD's. Forget it, I'll just do the Sausage McMuffins, thank you very much.

For a cheap breakfast, I can't think of a better place than EI. Lately, McDs has given nothing but sticker shock. For the prices they are charging now, most of the options at EI are a lot better priced. I will stick up for buffets, though. With the ACG coupons, the buffets at Orleans and Gold Coast are under $4 and totally worth it. It's a shame they are going away.

The Sunday brunches are more pricey than that. Look for brunches to start at around $12/person and go up from there. Of course the ACG 2fers take a big bite out of that, but it's still more than it should be.

Some of the champagne parts are optional. And some don't start first thing in the morning, so if you get to Harrahs before say 10am, they don't have 'brunch' pricing, but standard breakfast pricing. Just as an fyi, otherwise you'd still be looking for the standard coffee shop style specials where available.

Define cheap . I personally like the Lux Cafe at the Venetian or the Palazzo in the middle of the night when I'm feeling a need for breakfast. I find their prices very reasonable for the quality of the food.

Not really ....... I don't eat three meals a day in Vegas. I also don't go to the top $$$$$
restaurants , but do spend a reasonable amount of money on a Good meal. I don't go to Vegas to eat at Denny's or Mickey D's ................ I can get that at home. I want the Vegas experience without breaking the bank.
I guess the experience is different for everyone. I would guess that where you are staying would play a part in your decision also, unless you have a car.

Unless you're going to do the strict Sausage McMuffin & McDouble route, McD's isn't really that inexpensive. McD's really adds up when you include fries, hashbrowns, and sodas. Denny's isn't that economical compared to casino cafes either. I'm definitely not recommending doing what you can do at home, since you won't find cafe bargains like I recommend anywhere but Las Vegas. And yes, I always have a car to get myself to the best deals.
Remember that Las Vegas was built on the business model of cheap or free food, rooms, drinks, and entertainment. That business model was abandoned back in the 80's by a lot of casino operators in favor of catering to the "I want to go first class and I don't care what it costs" crowd, but it could be their undoing. Boyd is learning that lesson from Echelon, and MGM from City Center. You're also seeing a lot of the better hotels softening on rates.
It could be that you'll see the "cheap or free" business model return to Las Vegas before this depression is over. It could be what saves Las Vegas. That's the REAL Las Vegas anyway.
As for me, I never eat anywhere in Las Vegas without a 2fer in my hand.
