does anyone like the hilton?
we stay there almost every time. i like the variety of food places. you can eat a nice meal or fast food without leaving the building. i also like that you can go to and from your room from sight seeing and excursions via the glass elevators without having to go through the casino floor like most casinos, very convienant. i like the crystal chandeliers that encase the casino area and how big this place really is. they have a nice pool and hot tubs also. comps are good too, get mailers with good offers for moderate play. i really hated it though when they closed star trek down, that was a big mistake as that was the major thing that drew people here other than closeness to business meetings and expos.

I prefer to stay in hotels on the strip, mid strip. I enjoy being able to walk directly out of my hotel onto the strip. I have stayed at both ends of the strip, Strat, MGM and Luxor and would just rather stay midstrip, i.e., Bally's, Bellagio, Caesar's.

We stayed at the Hilton a couple of years ago and we really liked it. The room was big and nicely decorated. My husband really liked Sports and Race Book and I liked the pool area. We would definitely stay there again if we got the right offer.

Just as you do, we stay there each visit. We actually like that it's not on the strip, as it's nice to come back there after an evening out and it's a lot more laid back. The rooms are very nice and the beds are so comfy. We are really low rollers and our rooms are always comped, along with some meals. The sports book is great and football central is a fun place to watch games on Sundays. We love it there!

I like it. They still have some good Video Poker. Also some nice bars. The buffet gives you wine and beer, which can be nice if your on a tight budget.
There are a lot of renovated rooms, some good entertainment, nice pool and decent food.
Also, the Trekkies are GONE.

Re: does anyone like the hilton?
I like it for many reasons, although I have yet to stay there. But they have been sending me offers so I may do so on my next trip As others have mentioned, Football Central is awesome, probably the best way to watch NFL in Vegas. Also, someone mentioned great Video Poker odds which is true. Finally, I like the way the staff make an extra effort to be entertaining. In particular, the video poker bar bartenders get up on the bar and dance every so often and they are very good. Finally, Elvis made his big comeback here when it first opened in the late 60s and filmed "Elvis, That's the way it is" concert movie, in the same showroom where they do Football Central. If you like Elvis, and you like this hotel, you should get the special edition DVD.
In general they provide a lot of value for what you pay, and don't make you suffer in a seedy gross hotel to get that value.

Re: does anyone like the hilton?
thanks for all the responses, i wanted to state one other thing it seems just this last trip 8-28-09 for the first time i started seeing 6/5 blackjack tables. yuck. they had always had some of the best bj rules including surrender now they are transforming to crapjack like harrahs properties. i only seen two tables with good rules. i wonder if this had anything to do with recent change of hands in ceo. as much as i like the place if they continue down this walk of shame i will cease to stay there.
