Flamingo 5/27 thru 6/4
Well, started off bad, Delta 5:40pm flight, got on plane and 5 min befoer takeoff told us there was no pilot. Deboard plane, wait 2.5 hours, $6 voucher and take off around 8pm. Delta did credit us 1000 miles on airmiles account and a voucher for 2500 additional miles to mail in. Got to Flamingo and dealt with typical run around from them, 2 rooms later got a room could stand to spend the night in, next morning got upgraded to a Go room. Very nice as usual, but the hassel is getting old. Seems every time it happens this way. Go pool no topless sunbathing for memorial weekend, spent a day at regular pool. was ok, aside from too many kids and crowded. saturday went to Cesaers venus pool, Snoop dog playing, which we don't care about. waited 2.5 hours in line (9:30-12pm), pool was supposed to open at 10am, not sure when it opened as they let the scantily clad 20 year girls in first and told us for our $50/person we could lay on the concrete as there would be no lounge chairs available, left to gamble, what a wasted morning. Went downtown, gambilng at many places and seesawed back and forth. Noticed that California made thier video poker worse since January. eventually left up $254 after winning at craps at El Cortez. Had the flu by the time got back to room, laid in bed from 7pm saturday until noon sunday, didn't feel right until about Tuedsay. On tuesday had a very good steak dinner, lobster bisque, shrimp scampi appetizer at Legends in Tropicana. Noticed they are upgrading Tropicana, rooms including pool (by wet republic) very nice casino upgrades pools and rooms hopefully will be same, seems to be shifting towards more upscale clientele - nice improvements.
SHOWS
Saw Crazy Girls at Riveria and Bite at Stratasphere. Have seen many shows before, Mama Mia, Jersey Boys, etc, and as these were excellent shows, Crazy Girls and Bite were both a pleasant change of pace and very entertaining, enjoyed both very much and would recommend seeing them.
GAMBLING
Spent the majority of the time gambling at Flamingo, Casino Royale, and Bill's Gambilg Hall. Although not the greatest venues to gamble at considering the poorer odds compared to downtown, did OK. In one 24 hour period won about $3500. Started at Stratosphere when we went to pick up tickets. Hit a straight flush playing $1's on video poker, left up $400. That night lost about $120 at Casino Royale playing craps and blackjack, stuck $20 in $0.25 VP machine while I licked my wounds and hit a royal flush after holding K,Q,J of clubs - $1018.75 out at 2am. Next morning back at casino royale, played BP VP $2, hit four aces, cashed out $1050. That night played BJ and was losing again, went to Flamingo, played $0.25 BP video poker, on last pull, holding a 10 and K of clubs, hit another royal flush and cashed out another $1000 even.

You mean they didn't ask for volunteers?
Good thing the person scheduling the pilots wasn't the same person to schedule fueling the plane.

Was this on varying machines/table games or just one particular game?

Congrats on the Royal Flush.
Just wondering if these were single or multi-hand games and how much per hand (.25)??

They were multiple video poker machines and locations. Started at Riveria won a small 0.25 progressive for ~$233.00 (four 3's)on DDB poker progressive. Then at Stratosphere hit a straight flush (diamonds, A thru 5) on $1, cashed out about $400. Later, at Casino Royale, after losing at craps, blackjack and $2 & $5 video poker, on way back to motel put $20 into 0.25 bonus poker and hit royal flush all clubs. Next morning went back to Casino royale, played $2 bonus poker, hit 4 Aces, cashed out $1050. Another losing streak of video poker, craps and blackjack (after a morning at the pool) took me past midnight, maybe 1am at Flamingo. Again, getting ready to go to bed and put $20 into bonus poker machine, played 0.25. On very last pull with no money in machine, held a 10 and K of clubs, drew to another royal flush all clubs again. cashed out an even $1000 and played uneventful blackjack for next 1-2 hours (may have lost can't recall). So even though the winning was great and the two royal flushes were amazing in such a short time, there were a couple of significant losing streaks in between. But the ride was very fun!

It does sound like you had some kind of ride. Glad you had a good time, and glad to hear someone say they liked Bite at the Strat. I saw it a couple of years ago and I know it won't be winning any awards, but I also had a good time there. Thanks for your report.

Bite is a great change of pace and worth the money. I have been to many expensive reviews/shows and they have been good, but if you like hard rock there is a non stop flow of it in this show and the women (and show in general) are very entertaining. I am getting tired of the "trapeze" type acts, what are they called? Cirque de Soliel? I am trying to avoid anything with this reference, the shows are good, but after awhile, they seem to be all very similiar - hence the nice change with Bite.
